Top Boudoir Photography Trends for 2025

Boudoir photography is constantly evolving, with new styles and creative concepts emerging each year. As we step into 2025, we’re seeing a shift towards more personalised and artistic approaches that celebrate every individual’s unique beauty rather than the classic playboy one-size-fits-all approach. Whether you’re planning your first boudoir session or looking for fresh inspiration, here are the top boudoir photography trends for 2025.

Black & White Fine Art Boudoir

Classic black and white imagery is timeless, and in 2025, it’s making a bold return. Stripping away the distraction of colour, these monochrome images highlight raw emotion, shape, and contrast. There is something about black and white photography that really allows you to delve into someone’s personal story and reveal a level of depth that colour tends to conceal. Boudoir photography is becoming less about female sexualisation as it was in the early 2000’s, and more about raw energy and natural beauty, as we head into a more progressive society.

Outdoor Boudoir Sessions

Stepping outside the studio, outdoor boudoir is a rising trend for creating ethereal imagery. Whether it’s a secluded forest, an open field or a private garden- natural settings add a unique, dreamy quality to boudoir photography. Flowing fabrics, soft breezes, and golden-hour lighting enhance the natural feel. Outdoor photography also allows us to play with natural light, which gives photos a particular warmth that you can’t quite achieve in a studio.

Vintage Glamour

Old Hollywood-style boudoir is making a major comeback, with vintage-inspired lingerie, dramatic lighting, and glamorous styling taking center stage. Think Marilyn Monroe curls, pearl accessories, and satin sheets. Vintage glamour is timeless and this style of boudoir photography is something that you can look back on for years to come. Our studio is a perfect setting for vintage photos, with Chesterfield lounges, old fireplaces and deep red carpets.

Body Positivity

Gone are the days where women had to have a size 6 body and G cup enhanced breasts to pose bare for the camera. We are seeing a lot more women in all shapes and sizes using boudoir photography as a way to learn to love themselves. Boudoir photography is all about confidence, self love and accepting all of life’s twists and turns that made your body what it is today. Every scar or stretch mark is a testament of what you’ve become and is something to love and accept.

Male Boudoir

Boudoir photography isn’t just for women- an increasing number of men are also signing up for boudoir photoshoots. For men, a lot of the time it is about showing a physique that they’ve worked hard for at the gym. Sometimes an iPhone selfie doesn’t quite capture your most flattering side, so professional boudoir can use lighting and poses to capture your physique at its best. Male boudoir can also be accompanied by lifestyle photos like a suit and tie and can be used for achieving greater success on dating apps.
